It was hard to find a picture for this week’s photo challenge topic.  But I thought this photo, taken at Hampton Court provided enough on the subject of contrast.  I had forgotten about this photo.  It was interesting to see how bright the blue skies were (although, now that I think about it, it was slightly overcast on the day that we went to visit Hampton Court!) and how dark the castle walls were!

I really love this! I meant to comment on it before, and don’t remember why i didn’t! Here in the states, we don’t have castles, so I’m always amazed by them! I know when I get to Europe for the first time, castles will be on my priority sightseeing list!

I know how you feel. Although mind you, I did love visiting the antebellum houses in Atlanta and all the other historic colonial houses in the various states. It might be worth remembering that if you come to the UK and want to see Hampton Court (and the Tower of London, and Kensington Palace, and Banqueting Court and Kew Palace) you might want to get membership for the Royal Historic Palaces because it allows you unlimited visits for a year, plus works out cheaper too !
