Birdwatching

10 Apr

While resting from walking around the Tower of London earlier this week, this bird thought he’d join me, at least, I thought he was a he.  I was so surprised that he wasn’t skitting like most birds were.  Carefully and slowly, I brought out my camera and said out loud that I’d take a picture.  I smiled because he started fixing his feathers!

And then, after fixing his lovely feathers, he posed for the camera!

They can be quite brave down by the tower where the humans often give away food rather than shooting at them 🙂

I think (with heavy emphasis on the think) that this is a female – The beak has gone yellow although the feathers are still winter plumage. On the male it should have a grey base to the beak.

Lovely ‘poseur’ for the camera 😉

        It’s a Common Starling.
